fucking computers

Today was an interesting day for computer stuff. I was testing some things for work, on my laptop, and one of the programs I was working on consistently crashed at a certain point. I decided I'd try it on my desktop machine at home, which is a significantly better beast than my laptop. It crashed again. So too did Windows, which didn't restart. Ever. So I had to reinstall everything again, which irritated me, and still isn't finished. During all this, my new toys arrived by courier. I ordered some Wi-Fi cards for the machines at home. Wi-Fi is a network system that uses radio instead of cables. It is slower than a standard cable network, but for what I want it for it suits perfectly. So, now I'm writing this on my laptop, with nothing plugged into it. True independence is mine at last :-)
