Links

A bunch of links I used to use in the 90's... I'll get around to updating them soon, but for now this'll have to do.

Twitter is the latest fashionable tool for disseminating information to all and sundry.  Its actually pretty good for a micro-blogging service, though sometimes the 140 character limit can be a bit stifling.
Flickr is the definitive photo-sharing site on the net.  It was bought by Yahoo a couple of years ago and there was uproar about that, but from what I can see they didn't change that much.
LinkedIn has established itself as one of the premier "professional" social networks.  It hosts details of you and your colleagues and allows more professional interaction than you would find on Facebook or Bebo.
Facebook is the daddy of all Social Networking sites.  If you aren't on Facebook, well then you aren't.
Bebo is a kind of junior version of Facebook.  It is very popular in Ireland which is why you find me on there.

Slashdot

Slashdot (/.) is one of the most-read linux advocacy sites on the net.
C|Net News News.com used to be the best source for news on the net, but in the last couple of years its getting boring and financial orientated.
The Register UK internet and technical news site with an ironic and slightly satirical bent.
Silicon.com UK News site with a nice design, but the content sometimes isn't brilliant. Has a mobile channel on AvantGo
Wired News News site with a generally technical bent. Great reporting, good stories.
Need To Know UK site with a satirical look at whats happening in the internet / technical world over the last week. A "must read".
Scalloblog Scally. Need I say more?

PSS Creators of the best add-on aircraft for FlightSim
MSDN Microsoft Developer Network is the best place to look for information about programming anything to do with Windows, including web programming

Monster.com Monster is one of the biggest job sites out there. Don't use monster.co.uk, they don't have as much information / features
Google Best search engine you can find right now
