So we had a fun Christmas. We were home in Ireland with my parents, doing family stuff. It was all fun, though I still maintain that Trim is too far out of the way for anything good to happen. Still, its nice to see that my parents have settled in so well there. Life in Dublin was better, but that's just my perspective, considering that all of my social life was there, or at most just a bus journey away. Of course, they've closed down the Rocky now, but the Classic still stands in the same spot. I drove past there sometime during the holidays, up Terenure road and down past Rathfarnham. Its all different now.
I haven't had a chance to play much Eve of late, though I've just gotten back into it now. We've just built out very first space station, so I'm gonna head down there when I get a chance and take a look. The screenshots look brilliant though.
I have a bunch of pictures that I want to post up here. Christmas, Brighton, the last holidays in Germany... they're all sitting in my pictures folders waiting to be processed. I'll get to them hopefully before the weekend is over.
Anna is going to graduate this year, so we're looking at moving somewhere else. Just how far we go remains to be seen, but London doesn't click with me much anymore. We don't know exectly where or when we're going, but it'll definitely be this year, probably sometime during the summer. Have to go and do some work now, but I'll post more later on.

I just did another small update to the images pages - Anna was asking why I couldn't have a "Previous" and "Next" button on each page. Well, now I do. Oh, and I found the originals of the trip to Houston Space Centre
again, and uploaded them over the previous images. They're worth checking out again, some of the detail is awesome :-)

I've been wrestling with images for the last few days, trying to give them a slightly more engaging visual model. I settled on a drop shadow generated dynamically, but in order to add this to the blog entry page I have to enter some code. A lot of code actually, as it needs to be enclosed in a couple of different tags.
So, I've come up with my own method for handling images, and it will work something like this :
<image id="519"/> or <image source="url of image" hyperlink="http://url"/>
The first method is interesting - if it is used then it will pull the image name from the image database, and apply all of the formatting, and also link it up to the imageviewer page as you can see in the photograph below.

We were in greenwich yesterday, as it was such a lovely day. We took the camera with us and came back with a couple of gems, some of which I have added to the "Out & About in London" set.

I didn't get much done over the weekend with the photos update. Anna asked me why there weren't back and forward buttons on the pictures pages, and I was thinking about that for a long time. Its actually going to be a bitch to get it done properly. There isn't an easy way that I can see of navigating back through a recordset, you can only go forward. LOL... "only going forward 'cos we can't find reverse", just popped into my head right now. If you know the reference you'll know what I mean.

The photos page is undergoing an overhaul at the moment. A lot of it is back-end stuff, things that will allow me to post and link images with greater ease. More about it when its finished, but from your perspective, you should begin to see more images posted faster than I had been doing them before.
We've just booked our holidays too - Anna is going to Arizona on a dig later this year, and we're taking two weeks out to tour around Arizona and Nevada. I'm not sure yet if we're going to make it up to Reno though, have to see how we are for time. We'll definitely be taking in Las Vegas though :-)

I've just linked up the photos from Salisbury last year
. Should have done it months ago, all it took was a click and the album was relaesed. I'll get the comments done up for Christmas 2004 tomorrow and upload that set too.
